Stick rest (drift)
Checks that both sticks stay centred while nobody touches them.
What it measures
How far each stick axis sits from the centre, and how much it wobbles, while the controller lies untouched.
How to run it
Put the controller down and do not touch the sticks until the timer ends.
What the result means
- Pass
Both sticks rest at the centre.
- Warn
A stick rests slightly off-centre. Most games hide this with a dead zone, but it can grow.
- Fail
A stick rests clearly off-centre or keeps moving on its own: stick drift.
- Skipped
The recording was too short. Leave the controller untouched until the timer ends.
Thresholds
| Threshold | Value |
|---|---|
| Pass: offset from centre at most | 0.05 |
| Warn: offset from centre at most | 0.1 |
| Wobble (standard deviation) at most | 0.02 |
| Recording at least | 5 s |
